This shot was taken directly opposite the previous shot, and looks to the south from Ben's Bridge at Selkirk Yard. This is "The Pad", where locomotives are fueled and sanded. The Selkirk hump is in the distance in the center of the photo.

We've moved out of Selkirk into the Albany area in the next few photos. Here we have a northbound train splitting the signals at Voorheesville, NY, location of a junction with the D&H. This is CSX's Selkirk Branch. Note the yellow trim around the plow on the lead SD40-2. This is used to denote units that have been modified to operate in third-rail territory (the plows must be modified to prevent striking the third rail).

From Voorheesville we proceeded to downtown Albany, site of D&H/Canadian Pacific's Kenwood Yard. This is one of the few remaining units in Delaware & Hudson paint, a GP38-2.

This, too, is a GP38-2, but this one didn't escape CP's paint booth. Looks like someone has some pretty strong sentiment for the D&H, as evidenced by the D&H sticker on the nose. Also note that this unit is in the livery of the short-lived St. Lawrence & Hudson subsidiary.

Norfolk Southern is also a tenant at Kenwood Yard, and we were lucky enough to see a NS intermodal train pull into the yard behind an SD50/SD70 duo.

A parting shot of the yard, with SD40-2 road power. We would later see these units headed out of town near Mechanicville, NY on the point of a northbound manifest train.
