A Canadian Pacific train has just come off the Albany Secondary and is preparing to cut off from its train. Both units are well-worn SD40-2s.

A set of Canadian National units, consisting of a regular SD40-2, a wide-cab SD40-2 and a C44-9W, was parked at Selkirk during our entire visit this July 2001. These units likely will be used on the Selkirk-Montreal train.

A freshly-painted CSX SD40-2 switches at the Port of Albany, adjacent to Delaware & Hudson's Kenwood Yard just south of downtown Albany. The tall buildings in the background are state office buildings - remember, Albany is the capital of "The Empire State".

A set of light units is westbound at CSX's Castleton Bridge over the Hudson River. This location is near the beginning of CSX's Boston Line, the old Boston & Albany Railroad. We're approximately 3 miles to the southeast of Selkirk Yard. During two previous visits to this site over the past year or so we saw no westbound trains, so this was something of a treat. Another westbound manifest train followed these light engines about 10 minutes later.
